TERRORISM: ALTERNATIVE GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES

Saturday 18th October 2008

Seven years after the events of 9/11 and the declaration of a "global war on terrorism" by the United States, the international community is more exposed to terrorism than ever before. In line with its core mission of presenting an alternative point of view on terrorism, political violence and violent radicalisation, the Centre for the Study of Terrorism (CFSOT) will be hosting a major conference bringing together key informed voices in the terrorism debate. An impressive line-up of academics, experts, scholars, Muslim leaders and practitioners will explore the wide-ranging effects of America’s ‘global war on terror’ in the context of a critical appraisal of the international system in its entirety. They will also endeavour to find new definitions and solutions for the terrorism problem.
